今日も中学英語のやり直し学習です。
今回は、関係代名詞の「主格 which」についての復習です。

《今回の課題》

Ken lives in a house which is near the church.
ケンは教会の近くにある家に住んでいる。

The building which stands on the hill is our school.
丘の上に立っている建物は私たちの学校です。

《解説》

●関係代名詞 which は、先行詞が「人」以外のもので、あとに動詞が続いて先行詞を修飾する働きをします。また、先行詞と which のあとの動詞は一致します。

He lives in a house which is near the church.

●この文は次の２つの文が which を用いることによって１つの文になったものです。

He lives in a house.
彼は家に住んでいる。
It is near the church.
それは教会の近くにある。

〈注〉a house = It なので It を which に替えて、which is near the church を a house のあとに入れる。
